Commack High School Boys varsity Basketball vs. Sachem East - Playoff
Congratulations to the Commack boys basketball team on a convincing playoff win over Sachem East.
I got Sony’s 20mm f/1.8 prime lens to evaluate so I thought I’d get some wide shots of this playoff game. I used it for the 2nd and 3rd quarters. It’s extremely sharp edge to edge with exceptionally low distortion for a 20mm lens. It also has very fast autofocus, although on a lens this wide even if your focus is slightly off, the depth of field is so wide that your shot is still in focus. It’s a great lens to add a different perspective to sports shots since you can get a lot of the crowd in the shot. Of course, it helps that this was a playoff game and the stands were packed. Nothing sadder than half empty stands for a background.
