Commack High School Varsity Cougarettes Nationals Sendoff
Well, this was fun! Got to photograph a lot of very talented dancers before they headed to the Nationals in Orlando.
All of these photos were shot with a 20mm prime lens. Dance routines go quickly and you don’t have a lot of time to change lenses mid-routine so you’re basically stuck with the first lens you choose. Given these dancers are much of the time spread out across the floor you need something very wide to get them all in. Even then, they may be so spread out you’re unable to get the dancers on the ends. Anything wider than a 20mm would create too much distortion so that’s what I went with.
