Commack High School Girls Varsity Winter Track
Back to SCCC Brentwood’s athletic complex, or I should say, Suffolk Credit Union Arena, for girls winter track.
This meet was held at 11:45am on a sunny day so there was plenty of light streaming through the windows on at least one side of the track. This made for a little easier color correction. But, since the windows are near the ceiling, they don’t light the side of the track where the 55 meter events are held because the windows are just too high. That means most of the light reflected on the runners is coming off the track, which is blue. So… some correction of skin tones and uniforms is required here.
When it’s light out I’ll go over to the southwest corner of the arena to get the 300 meter events because there’s a window right over that corner that lights up the whole turn. I can usually get 1/2 stop extra light there.
I’ll catch the relays in front of the finish line so I can get the baton passes. Extra points if you get both the outgoing and incoming runners facing you in the shot. If not, always focus on the face of the incoming runner.
