Commack High School Boys Varsity Volleyball vs. Lindenhurst
Caught the Commack boys volleyball team in a late game with Lindenhurst on Tuesday.
As you can see from the photos the walls of the north gym are quite yellow. The light bouncing off these walls creates a yellow color cast that’s very difficult to correct in post-processing. You might think that a white balance adjustment would do the trick. It helps a bit but more color tweaking is required to get closer to real life and, even then, it’s difficult to get totally accurate.
For volleyball I’m using the Sony a1 with a 50mm prime from the side and a 135mm prime from the backcourt. Exposure setting is 1/1000 sec. @f/2, auto-ISO, which gives me ISO values between 3200 and 6400 due to the uneven light in the gym.
